Transmission Sprocket Installation
1. Install the tranny sprocket (with belt) on the key drive equipment. 2. Install the sprocket nut. The following procedure is based on whether a fresh or used nut has been installed. Note: The Transmitting Sprocket nut has kept handed threads. Switch the nut counterclockwise to set up on the main drive gear. Sprocket Nut: apply crimson thread lock to the threads of the sprocket nut. As well smear a small quantity of red thread lock or clean engine oil on the inside encounter of the sprocket nut and the outside face of the sprocket. Limit the application form to where the surfaces of both parts contact one another. Install the sprocket nut until finger restricted. 3. Obtain Final Drive Sprocket Locking Device (BAKER P/N: Tool-C) to lock transmission sprocket. Proceed as follows: A. Insert take care of of program below pivot shaft inboard of bottom level frame tube and attach to sprocket. B. Snug thumbscrew to lock position of tool on sprocket. 4. Obtain Mainshaft Locknut Wrench/Pilot (BAKER P/N: Tool-D). Proceed the following: A. Install pilot on threaded end of mainshaft. B. Slide sleeve of locknut wrench over pilot and onto sprocket nut. C. Tighten sprocket nut to 60 ft-lbs. (81 Nm). As the nut is tightened the handle of the sprocket locking application rises to get hold of the pivot shaft, thereby avoiding sprocket/mainshaft rotation. 5. Scribe a straight line on the transmitting sprocket nut continuing the series over onto the transmitting sprocket. Tighten the transmission sprocket nut yet another 35 to 40 degrees. 6. Install lockplate over nut so that the two diagonally contrary holes align with two tapped holes in sprocket. To find the best suit, lockplate can be rotated to a number of positions and can be put with either part facing sprocket. 7. If holes in lockplate usually do not align with those in sprocket, tighten sprocket nut as necessary (up to 45 degrees optimum) until sprocket and lockplate holes will be in alignment.
