   Bevel gears are very difficult to process. From the processing characteristics of bevel gears, we can see that because the bevel gears are conical, the moduli of the large and small ends are different. The modulus of the large end is large, the tooth height, and the groove width are large; the modulus of the small end is large. Small, short teeth, narrow grooves.In order to ensure the tooth profile of the large end of the bevel gear and the tooth thickness of the small end, the profile of the bevel gear milling cutter is determined by the large end, and the width is determined by the groove width of the small end. The tooth space at the end is narrow, and the whole tooth space is milled by two or three cuts.

   It is conceivable that the standard spur gear milling cutter uses the midpoint modulus to mill the tooth slots with the large end tooth depth during processing, so that the large end of the milled tooth profile will be smaller than the large end. The tooth depth of the big end is appropriately increased, and the tooth depth of the small end is appropriately reduced, so that the tooth thickness of the large and small ends of the bevel gear can meet the requirements of the processing drawings. This is the processing principle of the bevel gear forming method.From the outside, the bevel gears produced by this method have the same width at the bottom of the groove.However, the groove width at the depth of the working tooth still shrinks from the big end to the small end.

   In addition, due to the increase of the tooth depth at the big end and the decrease of the tooth depth at the small end, the tooth root angle is slightly larger than that required by the machining drawings, but this does not affect the use and gear strength.
